Who We Are

Founded in 2018 and officially registered in 2019, the Women Renewable Energy Association Uganda (WREAU) exists to bridge the gender gap in one of the most critical sectors of our time — renewable energy.

In Uganda, women remain underrepresented in technical roles, investments, and decision-making within the renewable energy landscape. WREAU was born from the urgent need to change this reality — creating a vibrant, supportive space where women can thrive, learn, lead, and innovate.

Our Mission

To increase women’s awareness, participation, and leadership in the renewable energy sector through mentorship, skills development, advocacy, and inclusive opportunities.

Our Vision

A Uganda where women are equal partners in driving the transition to clean, sustainable energy — as skilled professionals, confident investors, empowered consumers, and innovative change-makers.
